MAHA SARAKHAM -- A fire broke out at a large grocery store in Chiang Yuen district of this northeastern province on Sunday morning. The damage was estimated at 45 million baht. According to media reports, police said the fire started at about 4am at Srisamorn Superstore, the largest grocery store occupying a large building with 11 shop fronts, near a fresh market of tambon Chiang Yuen. The fire spread quickly to engulf the entire building and loud noises of explosion were heard more than 10 kilometres away before the entire building crumbled. Pol Lt Col Sayan Kaewnisai, a Chiang Yuen police investigator, said the cause of the fire was being investigaged.
